Used car dealer inventory · web app
Know what every car really cost.
Lotbook keeps the books for a small used-car lot. Every bill and repair order goes on its car, so you see the true cost, the markup, the gross when it sells, and what the whole lot is doing. Then print the window sticker.

The idea
A car isn’t what you paid at auction.
It’s the buyer fee, the tow, the safety, the brakes, the tires and the detail. Most lots keep those on paper, in a spreadsheet, or in someone’s head, and find out what a car really cost after it sold.
In Lotbook every bill goes on its car the day it comes in, with the RO number and a photo. The true cost, the markup and every stat stay right by themselves.
- Purchase, trade-in$24,500
- Safety & inspection · Durham Auto Service$486
- Detail · Shine Pro Detailing$249
- Tires & wheels · Kal Tire Oshawa$1,120
- Priced at $29,995+$3,640
What’s inside
The books for your whole lot.
Every detail, and photos
VIN decode, km, trim, engine, where you bought it, and as many photos as you like, shrunk on your phone.
Recon on the right car
Vendor, RO number, category, amount and HST, with a photo of the bill. Every one adds to the car’s cost.
The markup maths, shown
Cost + markup = price, with margin beside it. Price by markup %, rounded to 495 or 995, or use your target.
Dollars, turns, markup
Inventory at cost, turns a year, average cost and markup, days to sell, aging and gross by month.
Stickers and hang tags
A window sticker or mirror hang tag from each car’s own details. One car or the whole lot.
Max bid calculator
Work back from retail: recon, fees, transport, holding and your profit. Know your number before the bidding starts.
Print in one tap
Window stickers and hang tags.
No blank forms, no retyping. Pick the cars and the price to show (asking, internet, one you type, or call for price) and print on letter paper or card stock. Your dealership name, phone and registration number go on every one.

Bills and repair orders
File it the day it comes in.
Tap the yellow + on your phone, pick the car, and type the amount. The HST works itself out, the vendor is remembered, and the car’s cost updates right away.
- A photo of the bill, kept with it
- Your own categories: mechanical, detail, safety, tires
- Tax kept separate, or counted as cost if you can’t claim it
Pricing
The markup maths, shown.
Markup is profit on cost. Margin is profit on price. Dealers mix them up all the time, so every car shows both, with the sum written out.
Margin on price 12.1%. At an 18% target the price would be $31,495.

Lot stats
What’s tied up, and how fast it turns.
The sample lot has $176,163 in stock at cost, turns 7.4 times a year and averages 19.8% markup. Yours fills in as you add cars and sell them.
- Aging buckets and your oldest units, to reprice before they cost you
- Gross by month, recon spend by category
- Which auctions and trade-ins make you the most

Questions
Good to know.
Is it for a small lot?
Yes. It’s built for independent dealers, car flippers and small lots, from a handful of cars to a few dozen. It isn’t a DMS: there’s no CRM, financing or F&I, just your inventory books.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, on iPhone, Android, tablets and computers, in Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox. Add it to your Home Screen and it opens like an app. Snap a car or a bill right from the lot.
Can two people use it?
Each browser keeps its own copy, so one person keeps the books, or you pass a backup file between devices. It doesn’t sync by itself, because nothing is uploaded.
Does it connect to my DMS or Autotrader?
No. It never signs in to anything. VIN decode asks the free US government NHTSA service and sends only the VIN. Cars and bills export to CSV for your accountant.
Will the stickers meet my province’s rules?
You control the price shown and the small print. In Ontario, OMVIC requires all-in pricing, so every fee except HST and licensing must be in the advertised price. Check your own regulator’s rules.
Can I try it first?
Yes. The free preview has a sample lot with 11 cars and a year of sales. Open cars, look at the stats and print a sample sticker. You need the unlock code to add your own.
